Seeking Guidance on Finding Investors for Independent Sponsors
#1
Hi all,

I’m an independent sponsor exploring ways to raise capital for potential acquisitions. I’ve heard that networking with the right people is crucial, but I’m struggling to identify them.

Can anyone share resources or strategies for compiling a list of investors for independent sponsors? Specifically, I’m looking for contacts who are open to deal-by-deal investments rather than committing to a traditional fund.

Any advice on platforms, newsletters, or personal networks that could help would be greatly appreciated.

Also, tips on approaching these investors effectively would be extremely helpful.

Hi!

Compiling a strong investor network takes a mix of research and networking. Start by exploring databases like PitchBook, Preqin, or Crunchbase to identify potential investors. You can also tap into conferences such as ACG events, SuperReturn, or regional private equity forums.

For a more targeted approach, creating a list of investors for independent sponsors can help you focus on family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and small funds that are open to deal-by-deal investments.

When reaching out, be concise, highlight your deal pipeline and track record, and show alignment of interests. Consistent relationship-building is key.
