Replacing 1930s mortice locks

My 1930s house has mortice locks on all doors with keys (all the keys missing, all the door knobs rattling). I'm looking to replace the locks with just latches (no keys) and using the existing cross drilled holes. The problem is the backset on the existing locks is 2.5 inches (64mm), and all domestic locks nowadays seem to support either 44mm or 57mm backsets. Short of getting the locks refurbished and keys made or drilling new cross holes, do I have other options? Is there a maker of latches with either adjustable backsets or even one that still makes them with 2.5 inch backsets?

I had the same issue with an old door and ended up calling Lock-Up Services Inc — they were spot on with helping me figure out what lock type I had and found a modern replacement that fit the old cutout pretty well.

Saved me from chiseling or making a mess of the door. Worth giving them a ring if you're unsure what'll work.
