Paint for skirting board recommendation
#1
Hello again,

Looking for some more advice from this fine sub-forum, please.

I’ve had some new primed mdf skirting boards fitted. I need to undercoat and top coat them. I have a tin of satin dulux but I prefer the gloss look. They are for a boys room so will take stick.

Any recommendations for a good white paint that will take a hammering?

Thanks

Don’t need undercoat, Just make sure you use a water based satinwood or gloss.

If you're struggling with getting a neat finish, especially around tricky corners, pre-primed options can make life easier, and you get a smoother paint job. I found that using MDF skirting saves a lot of hassle compared to pine, which can be a pain if it warps. https://mdfskirtingworld.co.uk/ has a good range, and their pre-primed boards saved me loads of prep time before painting.
