Tickrate

Hello all,
Is there anything else you need to do other than add -tickrate 100 to make the server's tickrate 100? People on my server say it's not a 100 tickrate as out is usally around 60 and in is around 67.

I belive I have to change the Kernel timer. Does anyone have a quick guide to doing this in the latest Debian release via SSH?

Kernel Version: 2.6.15-1-686
