Hello all,
I have been running a dedicated server for about 3 months now and recently have been having problems with it randomly lagging. My startup command is as follows: ./srcds_run -console -game cstrike +map fy_iceworld_orig +maxplayers 9 -autoupdate -tickrate 100 +fps_max 600. The only major changes I have made in the time I have been running the server is upgrade the version of mani mod from 1.1.0zh to 1.2 Beta M RC7. When i refresh my local server list on my gaming computer it shows up @ around 300ms or randomly shows 3ms like normal. also when i look at the top on my server it is showing that srcds_amd is running using 6.8% of my memory and almost 100% of my cpu when no one is in the server (idle)... I have restarted my server twice today because of this issue. Anyone have any ideas?

49 Tasks.....You may want to work on lowering that number. I know that I ran mine with around 26-30 processes running, depending on the distro, etc....
Oh yeah, what processor are you running????

I've experienced this problem with several of my servers. I haven't figured out why it randomly starts using 100% CPU.
It only happens to me about once a month, so it's not that big of a deal. My solution has always been to restart srcds. After the restart, everything goes back to normal.

I used to have to restart on occasion too with the linux distros due to the memory leaking.

ok, thanks for the info. I may try and find a memory tester for linux. I did swap out the memory just recently, went from 2x256mb ddr266 and 1x128mb ddr266 modules to 2x512mb ddr400 modules. The modules are running with an older processor, a amd 1.33ghz, which i will be upgrading soon.
