I ran a garry's mod server on debian, but after some time I noticed it wasen't listed. (Was still able to connect by the ip)
After spending days trying to find out what the problem was, tried making tons of servers diffrent settings, clean ones and everything. It sometimes got listed for around 2-24 hours. But got unlisted after that.
I switched to CentOS 7 (64) and tought I solved it as it was listed the first time I installed the server. but like last time it got unlisted again. Without restarting or touching the server.
