SRCDS Steam group


Please Help me fast, i beg u!!!

My dad opened ports 2700 to 2720 named "SRCDS"
Now when i check the console and when i typ "status" it shows that the server ip is 192.168.1.100 is!! Is this normal? Please help fast

Yes, that's normal. The server can only bind to local addresses that exist on the machine.

Port forwarding is what allows people to connect via your external IP address and get forwarded to a machine on your LAN.

Yes thats normal. The ip 192.168.1.100 is only the computer the server is running on. As for the ports did your dad forward 2700-2720. If those were the ones he opened your server wont post online. The ports should be 27000-27020. But all you really need is 27015 TCP and UDP.

Would my server's ip would change then? What should i tell him

Them ports are wrong, port 27015 tcp and udp. the ports should be fowarded to the computers lan ip address. The ip address that your friends would have to connect to the server with is the ip that shos up on http://www.whatsmyip.org

I have have to connect to 192.168.1.1 for the router, right

That may be your routers ip address, every router can be a bit different though.

Vel, then you probably have opened a port in your firewall, and not ruted/nated it, or the other way...Wink
