I installed Source DS on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, but I can't seem to connect to it from a client--probably because of the firewall on the server. What ports need to be opened up on the server, and what protocol needs to flow through those ports? (TCP/UDP) I already opened up 27015:UDP but still can't connect. Any advice appreciated.

I have Fedora and I know it installed some sort of firewall during the OS installation process. I know I have to open those ports in my router but do I have to do anything with them in regards to the local firewall?

I would imagine that the firewall it installed was iptables, you will probably need to open the required ports, i'd suggest googling if your not sure how to go about it.
