SRCDS Steam group

A question ;)

First of all, thank you for this forum, this site and all its support ^^.

I'm absolutely noob about source, cs, dod, etc dedicated servers, so I'm here for a question Toungue.

I have a linux server and by your guides I installed one source dedicated server and one cs dedicated server and all works great. Now I would run various instances of dedicated server, and I think it's easy, simply change port of the instance (I hope Big Grin ). Correct me, pls, if I'm wrong.

Now go to the main question ^^. I'm a player of cs and source and I was an user of various dedicated servers. Obviously I had an ftp access to modify what I want, with some limitations. How could I reproduce that situation on my server?

Thank you very much, for all the answers and sorry for my english Toungue

You can run multiple instances using the -port switch. if your server is a rented dedicated server, you can also use the -ip switch if you have an ip block.

as for your second question a simple of adding your user to the ftp group you should be able to login and be at your ~/ (homedir) all you'll need to do is cd to where your srcds located and into the modir to download or upload. if you were to edit configs, i would just use ssh and use vi, pico, or nano

You would have to install an ftp daemon and configure it. I use proftpd on my gentoo gameserver.
