TF2 Server Shows up in In-Game Browser but not in Steam
#1
Hi,

I have a bit of a weird problem here.

I have just set up three new servers on a CentOS VPS. There is no firewall installed on the VPS and ports are therefore open.

However, my servers do not show up in the Steam browser. They do show up, however, in the in-game browser and in the "Favorites" tab both in-game and in Steam....

Any advice?

Thanks.

PS: I am in Thailand, so sv_region 4 should be correct

My server config:

hostname "THAI FORTRESS - (Nearly) All Maps! fb.com/thaifortress"
rcon_password "xxxxxxxx"
sv_contact "xxxxxxx@gmail.com"
mp_timelimit "30"
sv_region 4
sv_allowdownload 1
sv_allowupload 1
sv_downloadurl "http://www.kingofsnark/tftest"
sv_allow_votes 0
tf_bot_difficulty 1
tf_bot_quota_mode fill
tf_bot_quota 12
tf_bot_join_after_player 0
tf_server_identity_account_id xxxxxx
tf_server_identity_token "xxxxxxxx"

The Steam Internet Server Browser filters servers based off of the location you set up with steam. It is possible that, while setting up your steam client, you selected a country other than your own. For your connections sake, Steam filters out servers set in individual regions, instead of the Global region. ( For example, I live in the US - East Coast Region, steam will look for servers there instead of servers on the other side of the Globe so i have the best connection or "ping".) While you may still connect to these individual region servers over your favorites, Steam will only search for public servers over your countries list.
