Strange CPU Curves on Windows Server 2008 R2
#1
Hi SRCDS.com

I run 4 SRCDS-servers out of my dedicated server here at home. They all run very stable, but one thing annoys me.

When I log on to remote desktop, and view the performance joblist, it looks like this:

Systemspecs:
Quote:Windows Server 2008 R2 (Fully updated)
Intel Core i5 2500
16GB 1600MHz DDR3 RAM
120GB SSD Systemdisk
1TB WD Caviar Black - Server Applications Disk

I run a timing-application that sets the timing for the servers (same as running media player).
They are all running 66TICK for CSS-Servers, and in CSGO they run 128 TICK for my Warservers.

I host 4 gameservers, and 1 TeamSpeak 3 server. There seems to be plenty of CPU and RAM left, so hardware is not the issue.

I read about others having the same issue on the website, but no one has a solution.

I really hope you guys can help me figure this out.

In the process tab you can see how much %CPU each process is using..

I bet those 15% are divided among multiple processes, and to be honest looks like pretty normal to me.

Yes, overall % is apx. 20% but that doesnt change that fact that it almost 'spikes' the CPU usage, and I do not understand why.

Well, seek out in process tab what process is using most %CPU
Then you can ask why.
