Can't update TF2 Server
#1
Exclamation
I am running a TF2 Server with standard Maps for a half year now and it always worked perfectly. Updating, installing and starting worked perfectly.

And now? Nothing. I run the hldsupdatetool but the server isnt updating. Sad I searched for my problem on google, wrote to the Steam Support and i also tried many things myself, but nothing worked. This is realy shit for me, because many of my Steam Friends want to play on my Server.

My .bat files:
InstallTF2.bat
c:\hlserver\hldsupdatetool -command update -game tf -dir c:\hlserver

UpdateTF2.bat (yes, i know theyre both the same)
c:\hlserver\hldsupdatetool -command update -game tf -dir c:\hlserver

RunTF2.bat
c:\hlserver\orangebox\srcds.exe -console -game tf -hostport 25565 +maxplayers 24 +map cp_dustbowl

RunTF2.bat works good, but InstallTF2.bat and UpdateTF2.bat don't.

I only used the hldsupatetool, if i need any other programms, please send me a download link or the path were to find it on my own computer

I have Windows 7, Steam in "Programm Files (x86)" if this is a needed Information.

hldsupdatetool doesnt work anymore you will need to use https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD

Assuming you have followed those instructions correctly you can use the same .bat as you did to start your other server for example here is mine

Code:
C:\Steam_cmd\steamcmd_win32\tf_server\srcds.exe -console -game tf -port 25565  +map trade_minecraftworld_a4 +maxplayers 20

I have my own special port open so you can ignore that and you will need to have the directory lead to your own server srcds.exe. map is kind of obviousness on what it does and maxplayers is to.

Word of warning the steamcmd NEEDS to be in the same directories as your server files do not have it separated from the same branch.

example:C:\Steam_cmd\steamcmd_win32\tf_server\srcds.exe

My steamcmd file is before my tf_server file I put my .bat to start the game in my steamcmd_win32 folder but I think if you set it up like I did it can go anywhere.

Omg, thx, i can finally start my server again, but it's still vanilla, is there any way to fix my plugins? Because neither Sourcemod or any plugin is working Sad

I found the problem instead of going to the download list go to the snapshot list. Remember to create the vdf file to and install metamod use there snapshot list to.
