"Server is out of date." After Updating
#1
Hello everyone, I'm new here so and this problem has lead me to start posting for help.

So my server has been running perfectly, before other updates even, I would run my update.bat, it would finish, run my server after and it would be fine.

After Team Fortress 2 had an update yesterday, I did my normal routine, once my update.bat gets to about 3% it closes, so I run my server to check if it's done, and it's saying "Server is out of date" still..
Not sure what to do anymore.

Thanks

This is what's in my update.bat
Code:
HldsUpdateTool.exe -command update -game tf -dir "c:\hlserver" -verify_all -retry
pause

and my start.bat
Code:
orangebox\srcds.exe -console -game tf +map trade_fuzecraft_v9 +maxplayers 11

Quote:hldsupdatetool -command update -game tf -dir .

and my start.bat:

Quote:@echo off
color e
echo.
echo Launching Team Fortress 2 Dedicated Server...
echo.
echo [please do not close this window]
srcds -game tf +sv_lan 0

Yea this is starting to annoy me, I'm guessing all was perfect before latest update?

Toss me on the pile. Here's the stack from just before it quits:

Code:
0:18 Checking local files and building download list for depot 313 'OB Dedicat
ed Server' version 214
0:18     Connecting content server session for version 214
  0:18     [173.167.56.174:27030] Reusing connection
  0:18     [173.167.56.174:27030] Sending login message...
  0:18     Fetching version 214 manifest
0:18     Reading version 214 checksum table
  0:18     Calculating download size
0:18     No files will be downloaded
  0:18 [173.167.56.174:27030] Disconnecting
HLDS installation up to date

E:\TF2Server>

So, the updater thinks I'm up to date, but steam thinks otherwise?

Damn, well, I've been looking around and I think I may have found something, it appears it was something from SteamPipe. So people have been saying hldsUpdateTool.exe is no longer going to work, and now we have to use steamCMD. So I'm doing that now.. Fingers crossed!

Code:
ERROR! Failed to request AppInfo update, not online or not logged in to Steam.

Which doesn't work. Even better.

Make sure you're logging in with an actual account.

hldsUpdateTool is depricated and does not work anymore. Use the steamCMD instead.

If the login account does not own the game it will fail. Use anononymous instead.
