Im Hosting a GMod sandbox server with no addons at all and I spammed like 200 loose small props and it started to lag like hell. I looked at the CPU usage and I was at 100.
My specs:
4 cores @ 2.0 Ghz
1GB Ram
1GBps connection (Which sticks to its promise of speed)
The CPU of the unit itself is a:
Intel® Xeon® CPU E5-2630L 0 @ 2.00GHz
Why does it lag when I spam 200 props? Any ideas?
Keep in mind the server was empty at the time and no other props were about.

It may have to do with the amount of Memory you have.

yes .. cpu usage go to 100% cause the srcds application use 1 cpu and from that cpu a lot threads ... so run that small props on the others cpu .. or run the server to first cpu and the propes to the other cpu .. cause if you don't set which cpu server will run.. then the server will be jump from one cpu to other !

You could use the -tickrate 33 or even 20 if you want more players and more props... I have seen some build servers running 15 tick just be aware it will be strange playing in there at first the lower you go the worse it gets I think by default gmod runs at 66 tick.
