Update Failed Can not get Hldsupdatetool to work.

Can somebody help me out with this I get this error when I run ./steam to update the Hldsupdate tool. I have also run the command tar -zxUf LinuxHldsUpdateTool_50.pkg which worked but still can not run the ./steam command. I get the same error. I do have the 32 bil lib installed.
