Server textures

Hello,

I am currently downloading a server via hldsupdatetool and im wondering.... Why does the server insist on downloading things like materials/effects/decals/icons?

Its not like anyone sees them..... Are they even necessary?

it's just the server's way of organizing files. If a file is missing the server may shutdown to prevent any serious crashes or failures.
