I am running Windows 2008 Server. I have a TF2 dedicated server running, but it cannot connect to the master list.

YES, I have port forewarded.
YES, I have set up the firewall.
YES, I have tried everything.

Please help.

I know it sounds crazy, but if you have a Steam client on the same machine, either update or delete the Steam Client, restart the server and test it. Server boxes with an outdated Steam Client won't connect to the Master server list until the Steam client is brought current.

Let us know how it goes.

Is that the entire server.cfg file? I've never seen one with so few things in it. I'd suggest downloading a complete one and resetting the parameters to suit your needs. Also, there is no need to put the IP and hostport in the server.cfg. it does nothing. Use the server's command line for these things instead.

I'm attaching one you can use if you like. Make sure when you save it it's named server.cfg and not server.cfg.txt like it's shown in your post above.

Lastly, please attach a copy of the command line for you server so I can look at it.

The command is:

D:\TF2Server\orangebox\srcds.exe -console -game tf -hostport 27015 +maxplayers 18 +map ctf_2fort

Yes, my TF2 server is on my D: drive. I have no CD drive, and have an extra hard drive.

May I suggest the following command line.. Please replace the xxx.xxx.xxx.xxxx with the EXTERNAL IP from your Internet connection. To get your external IP for the server box, visit this site from the server box: http://showmyip.com/

Then start your server and give it a few minutes to appear on the master server list.

D:\TF2Server\orangebox\srcds.exe -game tf -console +ip xxx.xxx.xx.xxx -port 27015 +maxplayers 18 +exec server.cfg +map ctf_2fort

Let me know...

I get a:

"Couldn't allocate any server IP port."

I also thought this might be useful. This is a screenshot of my port forwarding. I have a matching Firewall rule for each port, TCP and UDP, Inbound and Outbound.

Disable any firewall software on your PC including Windows Firewall in the Control panel. Many antivirus software programs have Firewalls and block this kind of traffic.

If that doesn't work, I recommend plugging your PC directly into your Internet modem and trying again. This acts like the port is still blocked by something, or forwarding isn't working.

Is that safe?

I'll post after I have tried this.

It's perfectly safe for a short period of time, and it's a necessary step.
