"missing maps"

for some reason why someone joins my game and i added a map to my server they get a disconect reason "missing maps" so they have to download it and everything themselves. how can i fix that so the map downloads for them without them downloading it manually

It appears you are using the cvar "sv_downloadurl" in your server.cfg file which directs your players to a different place to download the maps and other custom files they need for your server. You'll need to either remove this cvar so they download directly off your gameserver or you need to correct the url link of the setting so the downloads work. It appears to be pointing people to a location that doesn't have what they need or the link may be bad. You can read about how high-speed downloads for SRCDS work using the sv_downloadurl cvar by doing a search here on this site or via another web search like Google. Their are plenty of things written on how to do it.

You lost me... I never said anything like that. Please explain what you mean and I'll gladly help you more..

For now, open you server.cfg file in the server's \css\cstrike\cfg folder, search for an entry starting with "sv_downloadurl" and remove that whole line from the file. Save the file and then restart your server and see if it works then.

i dont have that the only download commands i have are the following

sv_allowdownload 1
sv_allowupload 1
cl_downloadfilter all

and they still dont work... if im playing on a map i downloaded, someone will try to join but they get error missing maps.. ive tried for 2 days now trying to fix this and nothing works

What's the name of the map you're trying to use? How big is it? If it's too big, it won't download without changing the following setting in your server.cfg:

net_maxfilesize 64

This setting by default 16 (allowing the maximum of 16 MB downloads to clients from the server). By setting it to 64, it will allow maps up to 64 MB in size to download to clients.

Change that and restart. Hopefully this gets you going. You can test it on yourself by deleting the map file off you PC so it re-downloads it.

that is actually very interesting because all the maps people can download are all under 16mb, the map im talking about is mg_wipeout 2, its 86mb so should i make it

net_maxfilesize 90?

I believe the net_maxfilesize is capped at 64. But give it a whirl and see. You might get lucky. Let me know what you find out. I'm very curious how this turns out.
