Hi there,
I have been hosting a few servers on our dedicated box for some time now. I have recently noticed that every so often they will randomly bind the public IP to the base IP assigned to our network connection tcp/ip settings.
For example, in game I can type status and the server (orangebox tf2/cs:s) will say UDP IP: xx.xx.xx.xx, Public IP: yy.yy.yy.yy.
When this occurs it still shows in the master server listing, can still be connected to by all means, but when you click on a player on your friends list and check game info, it reports the wrong (base nic IP) with an unreachable game.
Another odd thing is I will type IP in the console, and it reports IP: xx.xx.xx.xx (def. localhost).
Edit-
I should also include that I am setting the ip at the command line with the -ip option, the first option actually. Followed by game/map/maxplayer/rcon.
Has anyone had this issue before?
Running:
Windows 2003
FireDaemon
Sugar Sync
Apache w/php/mysql
Equipment specs:
Intel Xeon E3-1270 processor
16 GB DDR3-1333 ECC memory
160 GB Intel SSD
