Hey all-
I am hosting a CS:S server on ChunkHost using a Debian Squeeze instance and I repeatedly get notices like this:
Could not establish connection to Steam servers.
Connection to Steam servers successful.
VAC secure mode is activated.
Connection to Steam servers lost.
Connection to Steam servers successful.
VAC secure mode is activated.
Connection to Steam servers lost.
When I look on my computer in the steam server browser, after i added my server to my favorites list, after it says "connection to steam servers successful", and I refresh, the padlock for VAC shows up, but then a few minutes later, after refreshing, it disappears.
I've examined everything and am positive that my host allows access to the required ports externally. I verified this with them- they run no firewall services outside of my instance and allow all incoming connections.
I've googled this issue and have come up with nothing of use... Everyone is either running this one some lame home connection and needed to forward ports or has an ISP that is blocking incoming connections. I have neither problem and as such am stumped. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
