Update is what caused it. With the updates to css last night i run our update bat on 2 active servers. The server which isnt used wasnt done. Turns out the one i didnt update works fine :/

This has taken a full install to sort out the problem. If anyone knows of an easier method to help future people with the same problem please post.

Mike is right. We've seen this a few times already, you'll have to update a few times to fix it. The updates miss some files (which is stupid if you ask me) and running it a couple times should fix it.

I had sv_lan 0 in the server cfg.

After 4 updates deleting various files i gave up.I moved the server files to another folder & did a fresh install.

There probably was a few files missed in the update. Any ways the fresh install did the trick.Cheers for the help dudes.

I have had the same problem on Linux now! I deleted all files in orangebox/bin, orangebox/cstrike/bin and orangbox/ (only the files, not the directories of course) and updated the server. Now it works again.

Install Steam, before starting the server run steam for a few seconds or run cmd script:
reg add "HKCU\Software\Valve\Steam\ActiveProcess" /v SteamClientDll /t REG_SZ /d "c:\steam\steamclient.dll" /f
c:\steam\ - replace with the path to steam
