Suddenly Lost RCON?

Well, this 2 years old thread is related to my current problem.

I was half way working on my HL2DM server with only MetaMod installed. When I omit "ip" setting in server.cfg (big mistake !) I couldn't use Rcon command any more!

The server is visible in server list and players can join it. However, I just can't get RCON working on server. I also tried Rcon_address server_IP : Port but still get same error message.

The error message is:

Quote:Lost RCON connection, please retry command (UNKNOWN ERROR)

I've corrected server.cfg now and need a server restart. SInce I am not so experienced and it's a remote server, I don't know any server restart method rather than RCON.

By the way, I also tried to make server crash and restart itself but failed.

Can someone help please?

if you host it then simply stop the process via task manager or ssh ? if not then ask the person who runs the box to do it
