Well I already read over the instructions for Linux, but I am new at this, and frankly found them hard to understand. So I will soon be starting a new server using Linux Ubuntu (I have an older computer that would be perfect for a server) and I will be replacing the current XP Pro with Linux Ubuntu.
It is running an AMD Sempron 2.0 GHz, and 1 Gigabyte of RAM. So, will it blend? (Had to put that at the end!)

Ok, so I need more assistance. I followed to tuoiral to the letter, and cant seem to get SRCDS working properly. Everything goes well up to running the command ./hldsupdatetool.bin
And I already ran the chmod +x hldsupdatetool.bin and that doesnt work either. Once I put in the chmod command, I then type ./hldsupdatetool.bin and it says that there is no such dirrectory, when I am inside the SRCDS dirrectory. I also tried it outside of the dirrectory. What do I do?
