Need Help Stoping a Running Server

I'm running a Suse Linux 10.1 CSS (orangebox) server with Mani, Metamod, Sourcemod and a Es sript or two. Everything seems to work ok but I still have some tweaking to do with the maps and skins. However, when I type in the server console, (a standalone dedicated CSS orangebox server) quit or hit control c or type exit the server will stop but my mouse and keyboard freeze. Then I have to power off and then restart the whole computer. This just started last week. Any Idea's Please let me know.

ps -ef | grep srcds | awk '{print "kill -9 "$2}'| sh

killall -9 srcds_linux

Thank's for the prompt reply. However, they no workie. I took a chance and typed "cntl z" and it worked. My mouse and keyboard are now workie good after the hitting "cntl z" to stop the server.
