Static IP address Doesn't work - Help with DynDNS?
#1
I have followed portforward.com's tutorial and done everything how it is supposed to be done. My LAN IP is ALWAYS 192.168.1.5. But my external IP address keeps changing:

IP Addresses:
Day1: 78.150.119.151
Day2: 78.150.119.44
Day3: 78.150.116.82

Can ANYONE help? I have a Huwei Echolife HG520b router which seems to hate me Sad

It's quite common for an ISP to change your IP address.
There is nothing you can do besides:
1) Contact your ISP and request a static IP. This is normally very expensive.
2) Use a Dynamic DNS such as no-ip.com or a similar site and give people your DNS name rather then your IP address.

I have created a account at DynDNS. I made a hostname for my LAN IP, anything else?

You need to have it point to your external IP, not your internal.

No, you need to use your external IP. DynDNS has a piece of software that will update your hostname to your external IP if it changes, so you don't have to constantly worry about keeping it up to date.

JDog888, the reason that you made an account at dyndns is that you have a dynamic (external) IP address. Dyndns is a service that will check your current IP address and translate that to the url you have chosen. You filled in an internal address again. I suggest you check out http://www.whatismyip.com/ for the IP address you have now.
People can join your server using the url. Something like connect JDog888.kicks-ass.org:27015;password ilikeknakworsten in console.
