How do you add files to download

I want to put custom skins on my server but I don't know how to make clients download them. It's going to be for counter strike source.

Just upload them to the server and replace the current ones. Or use a mod to manage the skins.

It doesnt work. I have my files in a "cstrike" folder. Where do i put them? I tried joining my own server without the files downloaded and they didnt download from the server.

Did you add sv_allowdownload 1 and sv_allowupload 1 to the server.cfg?

In your server.cfg ...just find the file and add the vars

Ok that doesn't help. Is the file a cfg? What folder is it in?

There is a search function in both windows and linux. But the file is here: <install_dir>/srcds_l/orangebox/cstrike/cfg

Ok I put a cfg file in that folder named server.cfg and added sv_allowdownload 1 and sv_allowupload 1. Unfortunately it didn't work D:

There should be a server.cfg present in that folder ... just edit the file. Using Windows try search in explorer, in Linux find / -name server.cfg

Im using windows but there is no file named that.

Maybe not up to date because of the Orangebox-update but this should help...

Make a server.cfg file then. Also you must put the skins in the correct folder.

Ok I looked at that and did what it said. Before we go any farther, you ARE able to put gun skins on your server for people to download right? Cause I've seen that you can only do player models.
