Counter-Strike: Source Update Available (6-23-10)
#16
Okay.. so i've ran my server with -game cstrike and it's been running source.. now that the beta was released as the source update.. how do i run a cs source server? I've ran the hldsupdatetool, and i've ran -verify_all.. when i run my game server it still says its out of date even after hldsupdatetool created an orangebox folder and downloaded all the files. So.. with my SRCDS.exe file do i run -game "orangebox" or what? Is that command line changed at all? This is really frustrating and it's the same old crap on every post i've read, somebody doesn't know how to update. Well.. How do you run the orangebox CS Source server?

You did not update your server, you only download the latest updates from steam to a directory called "orangebox" under your current server directory. With your command line, you are still running the old version. Now the default path is \orangebox when using the hldsupdatetool to update your server. So technically you should first create the folder orangebox in the same directory where your current cstrike server directory is located and then copy your cstrike server directory under "orangebox" and then run the hldsupdatetool.
Make sure to keep a copy of your current cstrike directory before running the update. I my case it did break quite a few things because of the plugins I was running only compatible with the old steam engine so I had to re-install new plugins for that new engine update. I finally ended up rebuilding my server from scratch!

Hi all and very good job.
i have just one question, when i just install new cs source on orangebox
< /home/me/server1/orangebox/cstrike
when i run without -autoupdate, the update restart to install again sources like /home/me/server1/orangebox/cstrike/orangebox ...
When i run without -autoupdate all of my server are up and work so good.
Someone know the issue ?

Before running HldsUpdateTool, you should manually create the orangebox directory under /home/me/server1 and then move your old cstrike directory in it and after run the HldsUpdateTool
HldsUpdateTool.exe" -command update -game "<YOUR GAME MOD>" -dir /home/me/server1.

Like this you won't end up with something like /home/me/server1/orangebox/cstrike/orangebox and will update the proper server directory

* Fixed several problems with missing textures in community maps.
* Fixed a crash that could occur when stats get updated.
* Fixed a crash that could occur when displaying the scoreboard.

0 for no command
1 for joingame
2 for changeteam
3 for impulse 101
4 for mapinfo
5 for closed_htmlpage
6 for chooseteam

Engine

* Fixed an exploit that allowed a plug-in to be loaded as a .dll file on the client after being downloaded from the server.
* Missed from last update:
Removed an exploit that allowed players to change their in-game name outside of the Steam Community

Linux Dedicated Server

* Fixed srcds_run so -autoupdate works properly for Counter-Strike: Source
