NOTES
IPv6 has priority over everything and it works fine (native, /48) - if it's trying to get an AAAA address to update from I don't see it being an issue

ISSUE
Fails at Checking bootstrapper version ...

DNS resolution and connectivity is fine. It just hangs at that message for about 15 minutes before timing out. Tried ^C and rerunning, tried rerunning at different times. No clue why it just doesn't love me like I love Mr. Newell.

edit: This is my first time trying to run a gameserver for a friend, I've never touched one before (though I do throw together a mean nginx/varnish setup)

try deleting the ClientRegistery.blob file and then run it again. Only the file. Not the folder it´s where you finds it.

There is no blob, hldsupdatetool ran fine but steam won't run for the initial go apparently

err... hldsupdatetool is the steam client for linux. there is no other "./steam" to run. after downloading the game server with hldsupdatetool just start it directly
