Hi,
I am running a srcds server on my Windows 2003 server box
i have CSS up and running it says "Network: IP 192.168.1.2, mode MP, dedicated Yes, ports 27015 SV/ 27005 CL"
192.168.1.2 is the ip the server is staticly assigned to.
there is no firewall running on the server 03
and yet i cannot connect to it from my other computer, i can ping it and copy files between the computers but i can't see any lan servers and if i try to do a "connect 192.168.1.2:27015" it tries 4 times then fails.
This is all on local lan with 2 computers hooked to the same switch, so router port forwarding isn't a issue here.
Any help is appreciated.

IF 192.168.1.2 is the ONLY ip assigned to your server then take out the IP declaration command ( -ip ) from your start up and just let it run... It will automatically get your IP.
This might solve your problem... I have seen similar cases in the past.

Thanks for the reply,
I was starting the server w/o the -ip command and just tried adding it, it doesn't help unfortunately.
Any other suggestions?

Have you tried TCPview and see if the server is even listening on the port?

srcds.exe:2964 TCP game-serv:27015 game-serv:0 LISTENING
srcds.exe:2964 UDP game-serv:27020 *:*
srcds.exe:2964 UDP game-serv:27015 *:*
srcds.exe:2964 UDP game-serv:27005 *:*
Is what is listed for srcds.exe in TCPView, still no connection and it doesn't change when i try to connect.
If i go in through steam and try to list games on the specific IP via the add to favorites it replies "Server is not responding"
I have sv_lan set to 1 now didn't have that in the cfg before didn't make a difference.
So... that is where i am at

Is there any anti-virus software running?
Double check that Windows Firewall is disabled.

Did you correctly assign your default gateway / DNS settings when you set your servers static IP?
