Another one segfault
#1
Hello everyone!
I'm running TF2 server and sometimes after 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours it crashes with Segmentation Fault error. However, after crash srcds starts without any problems.

Ubuntu 9.10 32-bit server
Default Kernel 2.6.31-14-generic-pae
Pentium 4 2.8GHz 533MHz bus (as "new" in the text below)
Celeron 2.23GHz 533MHz bus (as "old" below)
2x512 RAM 333MHz

About 3 weeks ago I was running srcds on the same PC and OS but with another old CPU Celeron 2.23GHz and everything was excellent.

3 days ago I brought P4@2.8, updated srcds and got segfault. Can CPU cause it?

However, I changed CPU to old one (Celeron 2.23) for sure and what do you think? Segfault happened in 5 minutes!

Also, I checked RAM with Memtest86+ and everyting was ok.

What can cause Segfault and how can fix my problem?

By the way, where is the difference between TF2 bots (tf_bot_add instead of bot_add) and usual players? i.e. does bots use more CPU or not?

On Steam forum I red that segfault may be caused by absence of SSE2 support in old processors, but this is what I get in cat /proc/cpuinfo

When I added -debug into start line server crashed in 50 minutes and the last lines were:

L 03/28/2010 - 23:47:28: "Someone Else<6><BOT><Blue>" triggered "medic_death" against "Someone Else<6><BOT><Blue>" (healing "0") (ubercharge "0")
L 03/28/2010 - 23:47:28: "Someone Else<6><BOT><Blue>" committed suicide with "world" (attacker_position "-1491 -3282 64")
L 03/28/2010 - 23:47:28: "Someone Else<6><BOT><Blue>" changed role to "heavyweapons"

I was wondering when I understood that bots cause segfault. By the way what do you think of this server?
