TF Server Crashing / Segfaulting
#1
Server OS: CentOS 5.2 64bit
Processor: AMD Phenom™ II X3 720 Processor
Ram: 4GB
Game(s): Team Fortress
Start Up Command: ./srcds_run -game tf -debug +ip my.server.ip.here -hostport 27015 -exec server.cfg -maxplayers 22 &
Admin Mods: None.

---

Debug log is useless and only shows:

----------------------------------------------
CRASH: Tue Jan 12 10:36:52 EST 2010
Start Line: ./srcds_amd -game tf -debug +ip my.server.ip -hostport 27015 -exec server.cfg -maxplayers 22
End of Source crash report
----------------------------------------------

I've got a lot of core files; no idea how to actually scan through them for any help on what's causing the crash.

More information on my system if it helps:

GCC Ver:

gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-46)

LDD Ver:

ldd (GNU libc) 2.5

Kernel:

2.6.18-164.10.1.el5 #1 SMP

What's odd is that Left4dead and Left4dead2 run fine on the server, as did this TF server until recently now it just craps out. Help?

Make sure you've got ~/.steam/ directory. Then if you do, delete it Smile Then your other games will start to crash too. Then re-install everything. I think I had this problem too. I'm not 100% sure it was about this, but in the 'net I read instructions that it helps to delete .steam and reinstall or at least install in some other directory so that the installer generates .steam directory again.

Especially if you can run the server for few hours and then it crashes randomly, it might be caused by error in the .steam directory. I did several re-installs to separate directories before I figured out there actually is this .steam directory too.
