srcds Update Help
#1
Hello everyone, I just wanted to ask a question regarding updating srcds. I have had many people tell me what to type, but never where to type it in. Where would I put this? hldsupdatetool -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir C:\srcds. And instead of Counter-Strike Soruce, what should I put in for Garrys Mod? Thanks!

Open up "run" and type that in.

Use this for GarrysMod:
Code:
hldsupdatetool -command update -game garrysmod -dir C:\srcds

Actually, I did that and that message still pops up. I saw it download tons of stuff too. And I tried running it like 4 times.

So what happened after that? Did it shutdown? If so, I believe it was done. Now you can launch your server.

What message are you getting?
Are you running any plugins?
Update your plugins and also try disabling them.

That means that either your server or client is out of date.
That update line that champ gave you should work. Did you close your server before running that command?
Are you using a legit version of GMod? Is steam set to online?

I dont think my client is out of date, and yes I close my server when I update it. And yes I am using a REAL version of garrys mod. And Steam is set online

Try adding -verify_all to the end of the command line and see if that helps.

Class tables means that something is out-of-date.
Try shutting down the server and steam. Clean the blob files for both and then update your server and start steam back up.

Where your HLDSupdate tool is located (root of the server install), you will see InstallRecord.blob and ClientRegistry.blob. Delete both these files and run the update once again.
