{SOLVED}How many servers could I run?
#1
I have 2 servers running on these specs at the moment and it's working fine.

* Two full, dedicated HT CPU cores (Core i7 or better)
* 2048 MB of RAM
* 200 GB of hard drive space
* 1000 GB of InterNAP bandwidth transfer
* Two IP addresses

It is a server from NFO. Works great at the moment.

I have one dust2 server and a skyworld server.

Skyworld 14 slots 100tic
Dust2 24 slots 100tic

Neither of them are full all the time but run 24/7. How many more servers do you think I could add to it?

Edit: Both of them run Mani and just the skyworld runs event scripts and es tools.

Your brandwidth limitation might be an hanging issue if you are going to host more.

Well it should easily could handle 30slots(one on each core)

Without knowing the speed (GHz) of the processors and the bandwidth it's impossible to tell.

Please do not PM me for server related help
fqdn Wrote:if you've seen the any of the matrix movies, a game server is not all that different. it runs a version of the game that handles the entire world for each client connected. that's the 2 sentence explanation.

They are 2.8 GHZ each.
Here is my speedtest result with me connected through remote desktop

It's located in chicago but speedtest thinks it's all the way on the west coast.

Sorry, the dust server is 66tic, skyworld 100tic

30per core at 100tick should be possible. And brandwidth is not impossible to tell. You might come in need of more.

what is meant with HT cpu cores? hyperthreading "cores" are not independent, so you can count them only as say half an extra core...
