ubuntu 64 bit server doesnt show on server list..
#1
I have a Counter-Strike: Source linux dedicated server run on ubuntu 64-bit, Core 2 Quad 2.6GHz, 8GB RAM, 250GB HDD, and a 100MB line. The server is set up and everything, and you can add it to favorites or connect manually via console, but it does not show up in the server list! This is highly aggravating.

The IP address is 216.67.245.195:27015 , please help me

What do you mean exactly?. There are a lot of servers on CSS, and it is highly possible the refresh wont include your server.

I have waited 48 hours+

I dont think the master server for steam is correct. It has two master servers, and perhaps they are not steam although it said it connected to steam and VAC successfully. I have always had this problem with any dedicated CS:S server and it is growing old..

steam looks for servers first that have IPs 'near' to the own (i.e. the clients) one. I.e. if your DSL/etc connection as some IP starting with e.g. 80.x.x.x, you will get servers first with IPs like 80.x.x.x, then those with 81.x.x.x etc. So it can take a long time until you reach your 216.x.x.x

So you can see the server on the normal steam list? or did you have to add it via favorites?

The server is dedicated and located in New Jersey. I am in Georgia.

I see.. but there must be a workaround for this.. that is not fair.

Have you tried the heartbeat command?

What is the heartbeat command to type?.. my other servers says they are constantly sending heartbeats.. but not this cs:s one. They are all hosted on the same server which has 5 different Ip address.

this is a "feature" of the steam client, you cannot affect this in any way by changing the server. ask valve to change this ;-) but what exactly would be more fair?

If my server would showup after it broadcasts a heartbeat like any other normal server on any other game. I have no problems with my other servers on other games displaying instantly after heartbeat.

it probably does. but if you have a list of 100000 servers and yours is showing up more or less at the end of the list, it will take some time... also often steam does not fetch the whole list for some unknown reasons, so your server might not show up everytime you refresh your list.
