Ok seems to be running not too bad.

It's a Core2Duo Quad Q9600, 4 GB RAM, 10Mbps connection

I have

32 Player 66 tick CSS
24 Player 100 tick CSS Gungame
4 Player 100 tick L4D Coop

Was thinking of a TF2 server as well, am I maxed out or could I squeeze it in. The 32 player CS server is full a lot.

Even when you are on windows, the rcon commands are the same.

Well we went from shared hosting to dedicated so it's a bit of a learning curve.

Get managed hosting then, instead of unmanaged.

Why spend the extra money, there are great resources out there, like this place.

This is for SRCDS, and even with all these great "resources" as you put it, it does not equal experience.

To be frank, you probably wont know what to do if you get hacked, or someone DDOSes you. You also likely don't know how to secure everything. (Hell, even I don't)

Basically, spend the extra $25 or $50 a month on the dedicated server if it gets you managed. It is much, much better to have someone else handle all this stuff if you don't know how.

Oh we have a network guy that looks after all that ports, firewall etc, he does that for a living, I just look after the game servers.

Why so aggressive? Propoganda is on a learning curve, much like allot of people here, from what I've read from your posts; I wouldn't be so arrogant.

Most "managed" hosting arrangements would not cater for what happens on the server, just the actual well being, and maintenance of the server. Albeit there are some managed hosts that would.

The fact is that people are only going to learn by asking, and making mistakes, I don't know about you, but I didn't wake up one morning to find I knew how to install and run a SRCDS.
