People Cannot Connect
#1
Hi I have already set up everything the server is running I can connect to it and all that. I used to use a linksys router but my brother moved back in now I have a different router. On the Linksys router I successfully made a server and I and other could join. Now with this new router, a netgear wireless G WNR834B v2 my server can't connect to the internet. I have already forwarded the ports and everything but still nobody can join. Any suggestions?

Did you internal IP change?

Does the older router support games?

Post a screenshot of your forwardpage.

And last, make sure you're running a firewall that blocks the servers.

I believe that my internal ip did change im not sure however. What do you mean by did it support games or not? I disabled the firewall and still nothing the only firewall that i am using is windows firewall, I am also only using AVG Anti Virus ( if that matters )

Yeah AVG does matter. As I believe it has an inbuild firewall. Try to look it through.

And looks like you only have made UDP. You must also do TCP Smile

Or if there is a "both" option, use that one.

srcds seems to be on the exceptions list of AVG I had both tcp and udp enabled before, i just enabled both of them, and it still did not work.

Try go here.. http://canyouseeme.org - and check if port 27015 is "successfully seen"

Ah ... seems that would be the problem. No it is not successfully seen. How can I change that?

1. Ports aren't correctly.

2. Firewall is on.

3. Are you hosting AND playing on the same pc?

4. How is your home network built?
switchers? routers? etc, draw a map with some arrows and dashes. (---)

Well as you can see the ports, at least to me, seem to be correct. I'll try and disable both firewalls. I am hosting on the same computer, but I was able to host and play on the same computer when I was using linksys to do my ded server. I did change the client port.

D:\srcds\srcds.exe -console -game cstrike -tickrate 100 -port 27015 +map de_dust2 -maxplayers 11 -autoupdate tv_port 27020 +clientport 27050 -sv_lan 0

About how the network is built uh you going to have to give me some help with that lol im not sure how to make a map Wink

Ahh okay I will give you an example of mine here.
Code:
ISP -> switcher - router - server.
                            - my laptop.
ISP -> switcher - router(wireless) - my laptop.
I've 2 internet connections.

Well if you do not mind and have TeamViewer I'd gladly check if everything is okay. But the map you've to "draw" yourself, as I can't really be there physicly.
