SRCDS Steam group


linux Install... Download Files... *confused*

ok i use putty to ssh in got all the instructins but when i run

./steam -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir .

It goes:
[steam@infamousoasis srcds_l]$ ./steam -command update -game "counter-strike source" -dir .
Checking bootstrapper version ...
Updating Installation
No installation record found at .
Checking/Installing 'Counter-Strike Source Shared Content' version 39
Connection Reset

What does it mean by connection reset? is it still going after that? do i have to have putty open the whole time? Or is there another way or am i just going crazy....

nvr mind seems as though it was just the steam content servers were fidgey as now its downloading fine ^_^ can i close putty while its downloading? and idea how long....?

If it's a new install, it may take several hours. You can close putty if you ran it in background or in screen and detached the screen, otherwise, you'll have to wait.
