Failed to load server.dll
#1
Hello, I just recently rented a dedicated server and am brand new to all of this. When I try to create a server nothing happens and support said this:

"The error I'm seeing is "Failed to load server.dll" If you login remote desktop in console mode you can see the game server running and the error present."

I can login to remote desktop fine, but I don't know where to go from there to view the error or see the game server running. Can anybody help me out.

Thanks,
Pande

I'm trying to create a DOD:S server, btw.

BASIC INFO
Server OS: Windows Server 2003 64-bit

Dedicated Hosting - Dual CPU Xeon 5130 'Woodcrest'
Intel Dual Xeon 5130 Woodcrest
4 x 2.0Ghz -1x4mb Cache
2GB DDRII 667mhz
250GB SATA II HDD
2000GB Transfer

Game(s): Day of Defeat: Source
Start Up Command: -console -game dod -ip 74.86.37.144 -port 27015 +maxplayers 10 +exec server.cfg +map dod_anzio
Admin Mods: No admin mods.

Also, if there is a likely fix to it that would also be nice, but I have a feeling that theres all but too many different errors regarding the server.dll

make sure you are in the orangebox folder then start srcds from there, not the srcds folder.

Forgive me, but I do not know how to manually start a server.

I'm reinstalling dods on the server and im gonna replace the .rar in gameinstalls.

This is very frustrating =(. It didn't work.

Please stop re-posting.
We have an EDIT button for a reason.

Do a fresh install:
hldsupdatetool -command update -game dods -dir YOURDIR

Then run via the command line.

You don't need to replace any rar files.

Please do not PM me for server related help
