server exists in "Internet", but not "Lan"
#1
I find this issue quite odd: I can see my server in Internet but not Lan. The server is hosted on a linux laptop, and the client is a windows desktop. They are both connected to the same access point (both are currently wireless also). rcon is working and everything, although I'm not exactly sure that anyone else can join as I got it up and running an hour or so ago and nobody's joined so far.

Any idea of why this is and how I can get it to show up in the "Lan" tab? thanks.

EDIT: it's a TF2 server if that matters at all.

EDIT2:

Startup command is:
steam@Syzothermy-L:~/orangebox$ ./srcds_run -game tf -timeout 30 -autoupdate -debuglog tf2debug.log +map cp_badlands +ip 192.168.1.12 +port 27014 +maxplayers 24

I'm running Mani's admin mod too.

to my knowledge 0 is both internet and lan, and 1 is lan. I can see it from internet but not lan. It is, indeed, set to zero.

also, 96.236.198.232:27014

thanks

Are both servers connected to the same Router?
Are they on the same subnet?

Please do not PM me for server related help
