TF2 dedicated server problem
#1
Hello everyone, sorry if this is a noobish problem but, well, i'm a noob at this Toungue. First time EVER runing a server.

I have follow the tutorials in these forums to set my dedicated server, I have downloaded the HldsUpdateTool and run it, I have created a srcds.bat file and edited it as it was shown in the tutorial, I have installed Metamod and Sourcemod and, hopefully, correctly forward all ports. I have also downloaded the TF2 dedicated server tool from steam (dunno if this is essencial, or even needed, since the tut doesn't say anything about it).
In short, I have done everything said in the tut, hopefully in the correct way, but for some reason my friends can't find my server in the master list and/or can't join the server (usually it disconnects them as soon as they enter the server).

Can anyone tell me what to do? Or provide me with a more detailed tutorial, for those people really thick in the head?? (I'm sorry, but some times I had to "guess" where to put stuff, or what to do next, with this tutorial Sad )

Well, thank you all in advance just for reading all of this crap Toungue, any help is more than welcome Big Grin

Probably good idea for the following:

http://forums.srcds.com/viewtopic/10412

1. Link what tutorial you used. Big Grin

2. This is the SRCDS forums so that's why you never seen anything talked about the Steam dedicated server tool that is launched directly from your Steam account.

3. Have no idea how this could happen as it is conflicting --

4. This is not a bad one tutorial -- http://forums.srcds.com/viewtopic/5315

This also ASSUMES your port forwarding is correct. Advice is to NOT install any mods. Get a stock source dedicated server running w/ TF2.
