Team Fortress 2 Admin Mods
#1
I tried lookin' through google for something, but all I could find was Mani and BeetlesMod. Mani was difficult to work with and even now as it sits, some admin commands crash the server for whatever reason. Blind, for one, I know crashes it. I didn't bother to go down the list and find out. Adding users to the admin list was also pretty tricky. As many web pages and programs people have made to set up admin privileges before clients are added, I would think the guy who made Mani would bundle something to streamline the process. Probably a small issue in the scope of what Mani actually does, though, I guess.

Anyway, BeetlesMod also doesn't seem like the way I want to go with it either. I was wondering if anyone knew of any different, hopefully easier to use admin mods out there that I can use for a TF2 server to do some simple things like voting as well as maybe some fun stuff.

Either this, or I have to just play with Mani until I can get it all to work right.

BM is the easiest bet.
However you missed Source Mod which currently controls most the TF2 and L4D. Bm is easiest to configure out-of-the-box though.

Please do not PM me for server related help

This, however I found the "registering admins" via ingame console a tad odd....

I eneded up making myself admin in the files.

There are preset advertisements.

If you just want admin mod to kick/ban/freeze/teleport people then use beetle, otherwise try soruce mm or whatever its called these days.

BTW mani no longer codes for admin mod.... well he sorta does.
PLEASE! Search before you make a thread!

Post server.cfg information, and specific information on how you are running your server!

Ensure you add REP! if they solved your problem Smile

Why? It makes sense to me to do this. I love Sourcemod because I use Sourcebans so I can manage my admins for all my servers online.

Sourcemod has a lot of functionality, and it extremely modular. It comes fairly barebones, but its easy to download and configure new plugins for it.

Yes he does, but only for Counter-Strike: Source.

Alright, thanks for the input guys. I'm going to do a fresh download of TF2 since I'm constantly getting the message that my server is out of date (even before this most-recent patch) and doing updates with and without -verify_all don't pick up anything, the server stays out of date.
