Kernel Compile Errors
#1
When trying to compile 2.6.24.7 I get this error after "make modules":
vmlinux: Invalid argument
make[1]: *** [__modpost] Error 1
make: *** [modules] Error 2
You have new mail in /var/spool/mail/root

When trying to compile 2.6.26.8 I get this error after "make menuconfig"
HOSTCC scripts/basic/fixdep
/bin/sh: line 1: 8776 Bus error scripts/basic/fixdep scripts/basic/.fixdep.d scripts/basic/fixdep 'gcc -Wp,-MD,scripts/basic/.fixdep.d -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -o scripts/basic/fixdep scripts/basic/fixdep.c ' > scripts/basic/.fixdep.tmp
make[1]: *** [scripts/basic/fixdep] Error 135
make: *** [scripts_basic] Error 2

These are running CentOS 5.2 64-bit, I compiled the kernel successfully when I first installed centos but for some reason I am getting all these errors now?

I'm willing to pay if someone can help me solve this problem, thank you.

any patches applied to the server? try downloading a fresh tar ball of the kernel sources, unpack them and start over.
