server FPS meter
#1
3 days ago I released a new version of the server FPS meter, most of you will probably already know it. It has some new features like listing all your measurements in your account, and should offer a greater stability. If you have any problems, suggestions etc. please let me know!

For those who don't know it yet: It is a web-based tool to measure the FPS of hlds/srcds servers and display it graphically. Also a "quality index" is calculated to judge the server quality (but that is still not very reliably for medium-quality servers as they might get underrated). It can be found at: http://fpsmeter.org

Using it is completely free, also creating an account to store and find your measurements. Only some special features are reserved for those who are willing to support my clan a little...

First of all, this is advertising (and should therefore be in the correct section of the forums imho). Second of all, that FPS meter has never worked for me. I know what I am doing when I enter IP, port and rcon but for some awkward reason it just will not gather the FPS.

What port does it use to connect with RCON ?

your server port. fpsmeter has always worked fine for me.

in what context?

@Doggie52: Does RCON work on your server e.g. with HLSW? Do you have special characters in the RCON password? I am not sure if they are handled correctly, so try using a password containing only alphanummeric characters...

And btw: you might call this advertising, but I have no intention of making money with this, so...

Yea, there's no advert here. Many server admins use BehaartesEtwas' instructions and FPS meter to reach 1000 FPS. There's nothing wrong there.

Doggie, make a search for "1000 FPS" and in almost every thread since couple months ago there's image from BehaartesEtwas' FPS meter tool. The tool works for majority of server admins. In case you need help setting up a test environment I'm sure you'll get help from the forum. Just ask.

I can work RCON in any other way, yes, and no, I do not have any special characters in my password - it's definitely alphanumeric.

"Intention of making money" is a rather broad term - you do have a Donate button which probably is generating profit. Although I'm not arguing with the fact that your FPS meter is useful.

can you give me the IP and port of the server? then I can check that it's reachable from my root server...

only to cover the expenses for my root server where the fps-meter runs on.

i got this error when trying to start a new measurement
Code:
Unknown message: jobs/atlimit

That sounds like the server is at maximum load or something.

Doggie52: qstat works on your server, but if I try an RCON connection it times out (it should give me some authentication error as I don't have the password). I guess there is some firewall setting on your server blocking the connection...

helixo: Sorry, there was the English translation of that message missing. It should have told you that you cannot run more measurements of that type at the same time. Should be fixed now, thanks.

EDIT: There was a bug counting all anonymous measurements as running under the same user and thus limiting all anonymous measurements together to 10. That should now be fixed. Sorry for any inconvenience!

Ok, I tried a couple of things, including making sure that the server had players in it, and am still getting the "Error - Array Expected" message after I begin recording on a new measurement. The server recieves a ""status"" query (with the two sets of quotations, not sure what that is about) from what appears to be the fps meter and then nothing after that.

Also tried changing the hostname to only alphanumeric characters but that didn't seem to help. I can PM you the server addy if you wish, had no trouble using the FPS meter before the update though.
