I'm looking for the srcds community to check my math on this one, will the following be able to hold 7 11-12 slot servers @ 1000fps and one 18 slot pub at probably 500fps but for shits and giggles lets say 1000fps.
Q9300
8gb of ram
100mbps port
2000gb bandwidth
CentOS 5.3 64-bit
most of the servers will be private. the ram is what it is due to a promotion, but hey, more is always better when its free

yeah should do it.. the 7 11-12 slots @ 1,000 FPS. Not so sure it would handle with the 18 slot 1,000 FPS full... check it out though.

You should be fine with those specs.

would there be a significant different between a Q6600 and Q9300 for this?

Other than the 9300 being a smaller manufacturing tech, not really. Maybe the cache will help.

Why would you want to run seven 1000FPS's unless you run LAN-tournament servers?
