I got a box with a 3 ghz P4 2 GB ram that's hyperthreaded. I know it's hyperthreaded because there's 2 CPUs showing in task manager. Operating system is windows 2003. I'm trying to run 2 TF2 servers at the same time. One is a public server set at 28 player and the other is a private server set at 24. When one server is empty the other server runs ok. When people are on the private server both servers run at less than 20 FPS most of the time.
The CPU usage in task manager says about 40% for the public server and 30% for the private server when there's people in it. The thing is when I type stats in HLSW the CPU usage reported is about twice that for both servers.
I was wondering if there are any tweaks I can do to allow both of those servers to run optimally at the same time. Would changing the priority or affinity help?

Not with hyperthreading.
Running that many servers in not possible on a single P4. I also had problems with low FPSs on a P4 I was using... but that box was in bad shape.

HLSW Shows your ping to the server, not necessarily server load. I am not sure how you could tweak your settings to make that better, but it is fine unless its really laggy or something.

A 2.5GHz Dual Core.
With TF2, you generally want each 24+ slot server on their own core.
2.5 Dual Core may be a bit over kill in this sort of application, no? I may be wrong but an intel 2.3 should handle fine. But if u have the money, get what you can afford.
Now if u were to go AMD that would be a whole other story
