[ERROR] Failed to connect to any GeneralDirectoryServer

Hello,

Command Line: ./steam -update
OS: FreeBSD 7.1

Every time I run this I get the error
# Checking bootstrapper version ...
# Failed to connect to any GeneralDirectoryServer
# >

There is no firewall, nothing blocking the ports or anything.

Any ideas?

maybe you are using a very old steam client? if I want to update a game, I run e.g. this:
steam -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir /home/gameserver/servers-nogsi/master/css
