Help with Load and Idle Info & FPS settings.
#1
I am new to the dedicated world and I noticed on the game panel I installed (Swiftpanel) I see Load and Idle

Currently our server is as followed:
Quade Core (2.6mhz) 8mb Cache, 2gigs DDR2 800MHZ, 500GIG Raid 0.
2 32 Man TF2 Servers, 550FPS / 100TICK

Yesterday while both servers where full I saw Load at 0.75 and Idle at 74%.

Now what is a good Load and Idle, what would be a high load etc. I tried to search the forums but I am uncertain as what to search.

Also, I've been reading that 550 - 1000fps is a hunk of junk, is this true and if it is what would be the best fps settings for my server? Currently I have them both setup to 550fps and 100tick.

Any info would be great.

thanks in advance.

Are you 100% sure.

Reading around I noticed that I should leave my servers at 300fps and 66tick.

Anybody have any idea how to read server load etc?!?

At 32 slots I highly doubt your pushing 100tick in fact your prolly getting even less than 66tick. If your wondering if your current configuration is fine than it would appear so you only running 2 servers on a quad core box which is roughly 1 server per core leaving 2 cores free to remain idle.
*Windows lack of output*
You: Hey, I want to run this program!
Windows: Ok.. It crashed... Now what? Give up?
You:...wtf...
*linux output helpful?*
You: ./My_program
Linux:...Failed!...oo kitties!
You:...wtf...

I am glad, I found this website. I reverted back to 300FPS / 66 Tick and I saw no difference at all. The server ran smooth all night without a lag spike or anything.

Thanks for the help guys! I'll be trolling on the site reading up on all this stuff Smile
