So, I was following the tutorial here, and I found when I reached the point where it tells me to use the following command...

./steam -command update -game "Counter-Strike Source" -dir .

...I received the following message, which indicates to me that the program doesn't know I'm logged into steam (and own a copy of CS:S).

Why isn't CS:S showing up on its list of available games?

Use SteamCMD to update your server.

https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD

I'm unable to do so, apparently. SteamCMD complains the following...

Steam>app_update 232330
ERROR! Failed to install app '232330' (No subscription)

...This is in spite of the fact that I definitely bought CS:S through steam. I've been playing it for a while now with no problems.

EDIT: I was logged in using my Steam username, which works to download CS:S, but when logged in as anonymous, it works. Odd!
