Pings in Counter-strike Source SRCDS
#1
Hey, I'm running an SRCDS warserver with Zblock. Everything is working fine except for the pings. my ping is 5 ofc because i join trough my local IP. But my mate For example whos living like 1 kilometre away from me, has a ping of 40 and people from Iceland arround 80-90,

Ofcourse i don't want this on my Warserver!

I played an 2on2 match tonight so i limited the max slots to 5, (+sourcetv)

Code:
E:
cd HLServer
srcds.exe -console -game cstrike +map de_dust2 -port 27015 -maxplayers 5 -autoupdate -tickrate 100

These are my specs \/

I must be able to run a 5slots private server with 100 tick, right? And is there any way to lower our pings and do not very much affect the warserver. like lowering the tickrate isnt a option on a warserver. Is there acually some program to make the pings lower. or anything else i can do, Please tell me!

Thanks in advance!

I assume this is local, as in your house. If so, the high pings could be caused by your ISP (internet Service Provider). I say that because most ISPs use nodes. Nodes provide a block of bandwidth for their customers in that region, area, sector, etc. And if all your mates are on the same ISP or your neighbors are on at the same time, you could experience high ping because they have to route the connection elsewhere to get them to you.

So, with that said, your pings are most likely going to stay that way unless you get a FIOS connection or some sort of dedicated connection. Again, this is of course if they are using nodes.

That upload speed is horrible. The high pings are due to the low speeds, there's not much you can do.

No, you can absolutely not run a 100tick server on that connection!
