Ubuntu 7.10 TF2 issues
Hello all,

I've been attempting to get a tf2 server setup for an upcoming LAN party on my ubuntu server and it's gone mostly smooth, save for 2 issues.

1) SourceTV - I did some testing early last week on a windows box and was able to start SourceTV successfully by adding the cvars to server.cfg. Pasted the same commands into the linux install cfg file and it never starts. Not a big deal, I just added it to the command line, which started SourceTV. However, the server now only broadcasts on SourceTVs port. I've tried setting the hostport to 27015 and tv_port to 27020 and both available games listed from the server browser still point to the 27020 port. I also tried connecting to the game via ip and the the 015 port, and no game was found. I'm a bit at wits end on this one.

2) Some custom ctf maps appear to not rotate if the game is at a 0-0 tie. The standard maps appeared to rotate fine and even a few of the custom maps. I haven't gotten to testing it against cp maps. Is this a setting in the map config I see referenced in the terminal when the map is loading?

Below is the command line I'm running (with STV) and server config. I basically copied it from these forums and just tweaked a few things. The 3 minute map time is just for testing purposes. Let me know if/what more info I can post. I'm still a bit new at using srcds.

The party is on very soon, so some quick help/ideas would be very very appreciated. Thanks!

Move these to a new cfg file called 'autoexec.cfg' and see if that helps.

Also remove +hostport and change it with -port.
Thanks for the response, but unfortunately no dice. The srctv started, but both servers are still using 27020 after moving the TV settings to an autoexec.cfg and changing to -port on the command line.
More strangeness to report. On a whim I changed my command line to include the IP of the server:

./srcds_run -game tf +map ctf_2fort -ip -port 27015

Now the servers don't show up in the server browser, but, I was able to connect to them directly, both the game on port 27015 and SourceTV on 27020. I may just have all the attendees add the server to their favorites for the duration, as it brought up the game when I tested that. Still, if anyone has some more ideas I can try, I'll give them a whirl.

At this point, the ctf map not cycling when finished isn't a deal breaker. I'm sure at least one flag will be captured, we're not very good. lol
